Fibonacci Duo

These two 122cm by 61cm MDF boards (B&Q) are painted in household gloss paints (Wilkinson) emulating the Fibonacci number series. Leonardo Fibonacci (circa 1170-1240) was an Italian mathematician who devised the series of numbers now known as the Fibonacci sequence and popularised in the late 20th century. In the sequence, each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers, viz: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 and so on.

Strident horizontal strips on the boards enliven a pastel wall in the artist's dining room.
